G.I.F.T. – Growing in Faith Together begins Sunday, August 20 at 9:30 am
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Religious Education program, which we call GIFT, is gearing up now with wonderful offerings for children and adults for this fall. Classes will meet between the 2 morning Masses (9:30-10:45 am on Sundays beginning August 20). Be sure to pick up a registration form for your child (ages K4-HS) in the foyer or from the parish website www.seasshreveport.com in late July. It is a privilege and a pleasure to serve your family.
Please note that we offer loving sacramental preparation for First Holy Communion in the 2nd grade year. If your child is older than the 2nd grade and has not received First Communion, contact me so we can help your child prepare to celebrate this sacrament which lies at the heart of our faith.
Our Confirmation program is a two year process that encompasses 7th and 8th grade, culminating in the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of the 8th grade year. If you are new to the parish and your high school age child has not been confirmed, please contact me. We are happy to help prepare your high school student for confirmation.
If you are interested in learning more about serving as a volunteer catechist or a helper in one of our religious education classrooms this fall, or in assisting with Children’s liturgy at the 11 am Mass, please let me know. We will help you acquire the skills you need to pass on the treasures of our shared faith, and you will most certainly gain much more than you give!
Claire Bissell, 798-1887, email@example.com.
Call for Catechists: if you are interested in helping with our religious education program in the fall as a catechist or a helper, contact Claire Bissell for more information. There are many ways you can help in accord with your ability and experience. Training and support are provided. It’s a great way to model your faith for your child!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word continues at the 11 am Mass. This ministry is designed to help young children to learn to listen, reflect and respond to God’s Word. To volunteer to help with this ministry, contact Claire Bissell.
If you are expecting or if your baby has already been born and you are seeking baptism for your child, please call Cathy Cobb in the parish office to set up an appointment for a baptismal preparation session.
