Announcements - March 18, 2020
Mar 18, 2020
The text of this announcement post was emailed to parishioners on the morning of Wednesday, March 18. One change has been made since the email was sent - that being the time for RCIA to meet, which is now 10:30 AM on Sunday. If you did not receive the email and would like to be added to the distribution list, please email Lori Mainiero.
Dear SEAS Parishioners,
We continue to respond to the coronavirus outbreak through cancelled and altered events. Please see the latest information affecting scheduled events at SEAS. This page is updated as new information becomes available.
While no public Masses are currently being offered at St. Elizabeth, Father Mark Watson and Fr. Seby Shan will be celebrating Mass privately six days per week. These Masses will be live-streamed on the SEAS Facebook page and accessible afterward on our church website. Presently, the schedule for live-streamed Masses will be:
5:00 PM Mondays during Lent
7:30 AM Tuesday through Friday
9:30 AM Sunday
Confessions can be made on Saturdays at 3 PM and Sundays at 11 AM as well as by appointment with either Father Mark or Father Seby. The sanctuary will be open on weekdays from 8:30 – 4:30 and on Sundays from 11:00 – 5:00 for individuals who wish to spend time in prayer before Christ in the Tabernacle.
We will keep parishioners apprised of any further developments through email, announcements on this website and our mobile app. The April edition of our monthly newsletter should arrive in mailboxes before the end of March. We will continue to produce our weekly bulletin where it will be added to our website immediately upon publication. (Click on About Us in the menu and then Bulletins). While there may be fewer pages to our bulletin in the interim, each bulletin will include our weekly Mass intentions, daily readings and words of encouragement from Fr. Mark or Fr. Seby. The bulletins will be available for download in PDF format for easy printing.
Please continue to financially support your parish during this time as you are able. While we are unavailable to attend Mass together, the church is still working to provide support to parishioners in need by way of pastoral visits, video-streaming Masses and, of course, electronic communication. It is our hope and prayer that by our sacrifices we can all minimize the effect of the complications with which our world now struggles. Your support of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish is critical, now more than ever. Please feel free to mail your regular contribution to the church office, or take advantage of our online giving program. From our online giving portal, you will also be able to contribute to any second collections that would be held during this time when we are unable to attend Mass.
If you are a smartphone user, please take a moment to download the SEAS parish app to keep up-to-date and get instant notifications to any changes to our current schedules and publication of our bulletins. Download links and instructions for using the app can be found on our website by clicking About Us and then Mobile App.
RCIA classes will continue to meet at 10:30 on Sundays due to the small class size and significance of the process.
LifeTouch Photo Appointments are still being held Wednesday—Saturday of this week. We are certainly understanding of any families who need to cancel. It is our hope to reschedule missed photos at a later date; we will keep you informed as information becomes available.
Please continue to lift in prayer the many people and nations affected by the Coronavirus. We pray for an ease to their suffering, for healing and peace. And we pray that those most vulnerable, whether by illness or isolation, physically or spiritually, will experience Christ’s peace and our love.
