Because the 2020 Pontifical Good Friday Collection dedicated to supporting Christians living in the Land of Jesus was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and because this is such an important collection for basic human needs in this area, Bishop Malone has been notified that Pope Francis has accepted the request to move this gesture of sharing that concerns the whole Church, to September 13, 2020, as the collection date.
Join us on Thursday evenings beginning September 24 through October 29 at 6:30 PM for an introduction to Luke’s Gospel. Fr. Pat Madden of the Diocese of Shreveport will bring his engaging teaching style to SEAS for these classes.
As many of you know, our brothers and sisters in Lake Charles suffered a devastating blow last week from Hurricane Laura. While many of us here in north Louisiana felt her affects, we were mostly spared her wrath. We at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton have decided to rally our very generous Parishioners to gather supplies to be delivered to one of our sister Catholic Churches in Lake Charles. Therefore we are asking you to please consider donating supplies from the list posted on the parish website. We will collect these supplies until Wednesday, September 9th. They will then be sorted and on Friday we will deliver them directly to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lake Charles.
You may either bring your items to Mass this weekend or bring them to the Burleigh Center before Wednesday of next week. All items should be new and we ask that you donate only the specific items on the list. We are also in need of sturdy boxes for packing the items in.
