Information and Cancellations at SEAS as response to Coronavirus
"Bishop Malone has clarified that Catholic churches are not to have Sunday and weekday Masses until otherwise notified. Sorry for the confusion." - Fr. Mark Watson
Fr. Mark and Fr. Seby are prepared to assist individuals in emergency situations following the “lockdown” mandate of Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
The Sunday obligation to attend Mass is dispensed, effective immediately, for the remainder of March and April. All Sunday and weekday Masses are hereby cancelled.
Bishop Malone advises that all non-essential gatherings at all parishes for the remainder of March and April be cancelled or postponed. This includes Stations of the Cross on Fridays, the Lenten Mission scheduled for March 29-31, and our Living the Eucharist study groups. Members of the LTE groups are invited to continue studying the LTE materials throughout Lent for their personal spiritual benefit.
The following gatherings will continue to be held as previously scheduled at SEAS:
RCIA meetings on Sunday mornings at 11:00 via Zoom - participants will be emailed the meeting code
While our physical gatherings have been suspended, some groups that were meeting before the Coronavirus outbreak have adjusted to virtual meetings using tools such as Zoom or Google Hangouts.
