Deacon Mike Whitehead, who was ordained in 2014, is a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Shreveport. He has been a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish since 2001.

Deacon Whitehead is the coordinator for the Christian Initiation Ministry at St. Elizabeth. He has been in that position for more than a decade.

For the past three years, Deacon Whitehead has been honored to bring communion to our Catholic brothers and sisters at The Oaks of Louisiana. He also conducts vesper services at The Oaks quarterly.

On the diocesan level, Deacon Whitehead serves as chair of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, and also serves on the editorial board of the Catholic Connection, the monthly publication of the Diocese of Shreveport.

Deacon Whitehead also is privileged to serve as president of the board for Catholic Charities of North Louisiana.

He and his wife, Martha, have four children and seven grandchildren.
