What is FORMED?

FORMED is an online resource for Catholic parishes and individuals. This “Catholic version of Netflix” can be streamed to your TV or mobile device and contains some of the best Catholic content there is – video series, movies, books and study programs – all to help you grow in your faith, find deeper peace with God, and share what you believe with others.

FORMED enables personal study, parish-based small groups, family discussion, and outreach to loved ones who no longer practice their Faith. It works in youth ministry, children’s catechesis, sacramental preparation, marriage enrichment, adult faith formation, RCIA and more.

The FORMED platform supports thousands of movies, children’s programs, ebooks, audio, parish programs and studies direct to your browser, mobile, smart TV or connected device.

Does it cost anything?

The church parish bears the cost of the subscription, so for you the parishioner, it is absolutely FREE!

How Do I Sign Up?

All you need is a valid email address and a computer, and you are well on your way!

The gist of signing up (for the tech-savvy): simply visit www.formed.org from any internet browser and create an account as a parishioner. You will search for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (best way is to use our zip code, 71115) and select our parish. Then, provide your email address and follow the instructions as they appear. There is no need to create a password - you use only your verified email address to log in.

Once you have an account set up, you can download the mobile app to be connected to FORMED on the go. The app is available on iOS and Android devices as well as smart TVs, ROKU, and Apple TV.

Now, if that was a little too fast, never fear. The remainder of this page contains detailed instructions to walk you through every step of signing up so that you can start benefitting from this excellent content. The detailed instructions:

You will need to set up your account from an internet browser, rather than from the app itself. This means that you will need to be "on the internet" at a computer and using whatever program you use to view websites (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, etc…) The program that you are using to view this webpage is perfect!

Type www.formed.org in the address bar of your browser (or just click that link and go to it now in another tab)

Once the page loads, click the sign up button.

Our parish has already created the paid account, so you want to sign up as a parishioner.

The best way to find our church is to enter our zip code, 71115.

Once you type 7115, a box will appear that says St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with our address.

Select St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and then click NEXT.

Now you will create your personal account which will be linked to our parish account. Enter your name and email address.

You don’t even need a password! Once you enter your email, the system will automatically sign you in and take you to the FORMED content. If it does not sign you in automatically, the system will tell you that it is sending a confirmation email to the address you provided in the signup process. The link that the system sends you will be valid for two hours. The email will look something like this:

Click the Sign In Now button. This will verify your email address. You will see the following box once you click the sign in box in the email:

Click CONTINUE and the FORMED content will launch automatically with you logged in.

Logging In on a Mobile Device - Using the APP

If you wish to use the app on your smartphone or tablet, first download the FORMED app on your device.

Open the app and select LOG IN from the opening menu.

Type your email address on the blank line and press NEXT

The system will send you an email to confirm your login. This will be much like the email you received during the signup process. Check your email inbox and click the Sign In Now button. This emailed link will only be valid for two hours.

The system will automatically launch the FORMED app and allow you immediate access to the content. It should keep you logged in indefinitely, but remember if it logs you out, you can always log in again using your email address and following the instructions on the screen.

That's it, folks. Now you are ready to start enjoying all the wonderful Catholic content that is available through this program. Listen, learn, share...but most of all, ENJOY!! This content will enrich your lives and strengthen your faith.

You can also access the FORMED content on smart TV’s, ROKU, Firesticks and Apple TV? Log in to your FORMED account on any browser and click the downward facing arrow next to your initial in the top right corner of the screen. From there, select Help, and then click the article that most applies to the device you are using.
